We’re talking about money! It’s important to be educated and informed about how best to save, spend, pay off debt, and of course, play with your money.

Joining us today to chat about money is Sophia Bera, founder of Gen Y Planning. As a certified financial planner, Sophia provides affordable financial planning to our generation, Millennials. She is not your father’s financial planner.

What we chat about:

  • Why Millennials should care about their money
  • What is a 401k and how do you “match” it to save the most amount of money?
  • Should you be paying off your student loans first or saving?
  • What your options are for paying off your Federal student loans
  • What questions to ask when shopping around for a financial planner
  • Why you shouldn’t be afraid to use some of your money to have fun and how you can plan for the trips you want to take
  • How to build basic financial security

  • This is a must listen podcast for lawyers
June 10, 2019 by Dina Cataldo from United States

When I was a new lawyer, I didn't feel that I had the support I needed to flourish. This podcast is a great tool for all lawyers - new or seasoned - to begin taking their lives and their practices to the next level. It offers the support to lawyers that I believe more of us need in this profession.

  • Excellent podcast for lawyers!
April 24, 2019 by cjgarso from United States

This podcast is one of my favs. I get so excited when I see I have a new episode to listen to. The host’s energy is great and I like the style of interviewing. For me, sometimes it’s just nice to hear how other attorneys are living (and hopefully loving) their lives. A perfect balance of different ages, practice areas, and lifestyles represented.

  • Wow!!

Such great guests, and incredible topics that are covered. All very relative to what everyone is struggling with! The host does a great job of asking great questions as well

  • Love this show!

My very first podcast I ever listened to, and I still love it! Super energetic and informative. A definite favorite.

  • A Must Listen for any Entrepreneur Lawyer
November 12, 2018 by Dan Nguyen Esq from United States

TGYL podcast is a must listen to any an attorney that has their own practice or responsible for their own book of business. The guests are top notch and Karima does a great job as a host getting the best information out. I've heard a lot of information elsewhere, but when you hear it one more time from other colleagues in the trenches it has a little more weight behind it and easier for us to take action to take our practices to the next level.

  • Excellent podcast!

Informative, upbeat, and great podcast for the modern lawyer.

  • Great stuff - check it out
November 11, 2018 by jazzfanWill from United States

I work with unhappy lawyers, and it was my pleasure to be a guest on this podcast - I also took the opportunity to listen to a bunch of the other episodes and got hooked. Well worth your time - there's good, useful stuff here.

  • Great podcast
November 11, 2018 by Neil I Thompson from United States

Even though I'm not a lawyer, I really like this podcast because the host asks questions that can apply to any entrepreneur or small business owner.

  • Great resource for young attorneys

Very powerful tips and content! Thanks for putting this out Nicole :)

  • Excellent BUT One Huge Problem
October 13, 2018 by Nietzsche66 from United States

Great content overall. However, the host is too often doing the absolute worst and most annoyingly thing possible for podcast listeners: uttering “yes” or “uh huh” or “yeah” or the like as the person being interviewed is speaking. Do NOT do this!! Just let them speak. I realize it’s a social habit that we use when speaking in a personal conversation, but it’s supremely distracting for listeners in a context such as this. Trust me on this one. You will notice that the best podcast hosts virtually never interrupt speakers/guests. Otherwise keep up the good work.
